Something Greater Than The Temple

Adam W. Schindler discusses the role and significance of the temple in the days of Jesus. The temple was central to Jewish life and served as the place of God’s presence, forgiveness of sins, sacrifice, and communion with Israel.

However, there were problems with the temple, including the absence of God’s presence and the corruption of the priesthood. Jesus confronted these issues and proclaimed that something greater than the temple was present. He planned to tear down the temple and rebuild it in three days, referring to himself as the new temple. This is why we need repentance and transformation in the church and the nation.
